Each have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's resignation on Monday.

The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss described Celtic as "a really big soccer institution" but emphasized he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with the Championship side.

The 39-year-old took charge of Ipswich in 2021 and guided the team to the Premier League with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the second division and they presently occupy twelfth place in the Championship.

"I have not had such conversations," the London-born former Irish youth international said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is currently.

"I have a special job here at a remarkable team. And we're at a really important stage of the campaign. Anything external hasn't reached my awareness."

Context and Agreement Aspects

Reports indicate that McKenna would be open to speaking to Celtic given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about those. "I don't think all people has to publicly and announce what they used to be, but of course it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna agreed to a new four-year contract in last year and was asked about his alleged £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you anyway!

"I tackle this job like I'll be Town's coach indefinitely. I know that's not invariably going to be the case, but I'll always do my best as long as I remain in position."

Bellamy's Position

The former striker represented the Hoops on loan from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Wales striker is minded to finish the current World Cup campaign, a position that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are presently in third place in their World Cup group behind leaders the Red Devils and runners-up Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in next month would book their place in the final qualifying round, but they are all but guaranteed of reaching that stage, due to a productive European competition performance, even if they fail to end up Group J second place.

Considering his current position, the Wales manager, whose agreement concludes after the European Championship, would be unavailable until after the qualifying matches at the earliest.
