Fighters smirk as they ride on the back of a pick-up truck, hurrying past a series of nine dead bodies and driving towards the sinking Sudan's sunset.

"Look at this extensive work. Observe this act of ethnic cleansing," one cheers.

He smiles as he points the recording device on his own face and his fellow fighters, their paramilitary badges on display: "The victims will all be killed like this."

These individuals are exulting in a massacre that relief organizations believe killed over thousands of people in the Sudanese urban center of el-Fasher last month.

An Urban Center Severed from the Outside

Following their control of the city under siege for almost 24 months, from August the paramilitary force moved to strengthen its dominance and restrict the remaining inhabitants.

Orbital photography show that forces commenced to build a enormous earth barrier - a raised earthen wall - encircling the edges of al-Fashir, blocking access routes and blocking humanitarian assistance.

While the blockade intensified, multiple civilians were slain in an RSF assault on a religious building on mid-September, while the international organization said 53 more were murdered in aerial and artillery bombardments on a refugee settlement in October.

Disturbing Footage Reveals Unarmed Individuals Gunned Down

At dawn on late October the RSF overwhelmed the final military defenses and seized the main compound in the urban area, the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division, as the army pulled back.
