Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.
Football and Family Life
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football side," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.
West Ham's only on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.
My son advised me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.
They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
